Welcome to VIRR
Their adventures have taken them across Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Alaska, the Sierra Nevada, Canadian Rockies, South America and France. At just 19, Balin chartered a plane into the Alaska Range to summit Mount Huntington. By May 2024, at age 22, he ventured up the West Buttress of Denali. Later that year, in November, Balin achieved the incredible feat of summiting Cerro Torre in Patagonia, widely regarded by experienced climbers as one of the most technically challenging peaks. On his way home from Patagonia Balin flew into Canada before driving home to Spokane. On his way home he spontaneously decided to solo climb Reality Bath on White Pyramid in the Canadian Rockies. Balin was the second climber in 37 years to successfully complete this ice-climb after Mark Twight and Randy Radcliffe. Spring of 2025 he spent 53 days in Denali completing 4 summits. Two summits were first ever historic solo climbs, the French Connection on Mount Hunter and the Slovak Direct of Denali. In October 2025 he soloed Sea of Dreams on El Captain. He has earned world wide recognition. The climbing community refers to Balin as " King of the Alaska Range" Veteran climbers refer to Balin Miller as legendary and one of the most accomplished alpinists of his generation. Since his devastating passing his mother Jeanine Moorman has created a non-profit, The Balin Scott Miller Foundation. the foundation will raise money for grants to help with essential climbing gear for young climbers under 24 years of age. Learn more about the foundation at balinscottmillerfoundation.org and follow on intragram at Orangetentguy.us
Dylan shares his brother’s passion for climbing and endurance sports. He has completed 12 Mount Marathons races in Seward, Alaska, and participated in numerous ultramarathons and adventure runs across the Rockies. In the summer of 2024, Dylan dedicated his time to climbing in Yosemite and the Rockies. When not working as a nurse, he can be found exploring the trails and cliffs around Bozeman and Montana. Most Recently February 2026 he ran the perimeter of Bora Bora in French Polynesia
Their younger sister, Mia, is also a rising athlete, inspired by her brothers’ adventures. She has completed three Junior Mount Marathon races in Seward, Alaska, and is passionate about both running, climbing and kayaking. Her most recent focus is to improve her ice-climbing bouldering skills.
