Despite subzero temps and blistering windchill, Dylan Miller made the most of his time off work this past February rambling around the South Fork of the Shoshone River in search of steep ice. He found what he was in search of, but to his dismay, the quality of the ice was very brittle thanks to the extremely cold temperatures. At one point during the drive down to Wyoming, the temperature on the vehicle read -31 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this did not detour the this climber as he was use to cold temps from growing up in Alaska. On the flip side, the warmest temp during their trip reached about 10 degrees Fahrenheit which felt like t-shirt weather in comparison. Some say that their is no such thing as bad weather, but rather just bad preparation or a negative attitude.
